Kathy Curry, Owner of Huntsville Massage Professionals is featured as one of the "7 Women You Should Know" in Who's Who Magazine.

Kathy Curry, owner of Huntsville Massage Professionals, checks client Crystal Low.
Crystal Lowe admits after having her first child five years ago, she questioned whether to have a second. “My first pregnancy was tough; I had a lot of swelling and a lot of back pain” she said. So, when she unexpectedly found herself expecting, she was concerned. “I thought my back was never going to handle this; I thought I would be bedridden,” Lowe said.
Then Lowe met Kathy Curry, owner of Huntsville Massage Professionals. A Licensed Massage Therapist, Curry specializes in Prenatal Massage. She says that massage offers several benefits for expectant mothers. It can help ease structural changes the body experiences during pregnancy as well as reduce stress on weight bearing joints such as low back, pelvis and ankles. Curry also uses Lymphatic Drainage Massage when working with her expectant clients to alleviate edema, an accumulation of fluids in the tissues that causes swelling and pain. This technique can also help boost the immune system by facilitating the movement of fluid through the lymph nodes. Lowe sees Curry on a weekly basis and says it had made all the difference this second time around. “I’ve been able to cope with the pregnancy without the back pain. It’s unbelievable. I can tell if I miss a week; I start swelling in my hands and feet.” That’s why Lowe also wants Curry with her once she goes into labor. A former labor and delivery nurse, Curry has seen first hand how massage can help alleviate stress and reduce the need for pain medication, forceps and the request for epidurals. Getting a massage during contractions can ease the pain. Mommy is less stressed and therefore the baby is too.

Randy Roberts
For a father stricken with cancer, golf tourney was time of his life.
Huntsville, AL – A sneaky consipiracy between a nephew and aunt, a dream impossible to fulfill, a ghastly disease, a Hall of Fame football player and a Huntsville radio station all combined for one memorable, emotional Father’s Day gift.
Randy Roberts, 55, has cancer. It’s his second fight with Mesothelioma. It’s already taken away one lung. After two years in remission, it’s back. Despite that, “Randy has never complained,” said his wife, Wendy. But it’s ruined his golf game. He hasn’t played in 15 months. Because of that, he might grouse just a little bit.
His sister, Kathy Curry, owner of Huntsville Massage Professionals, lives in Huntsville. She promised Randy that when he beat cancer, she would take him to Pebble Beach to play golf. But after having the lung removed, doctors won’t let Randy fly. That didn’t stop Kathy. “Since he can’t go to Pebble Beach, I brought Pebble Beach to him!” Kathy would do anything in the world for her big brother.
That’s where the conspiracy, little sister, football player and radio station come into play. A local radio station held a Father’s Day contest to win an opportunity to play in the John Stallworth Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament. Curry heard about the contest and called Randy’s son, Matthew, a rising eighth-grader at Chattanooga School for Arts & Sciences. Nobody else knew about it. “They’re good at keeping secrets,” said Wendy. Together with his Aunt Kathy, Matthew wrote into the radio station with the following story:
“My dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma almost 2 years ago. He had the entire right lobe of his lung removed, his diaphragm replaced with Goretex and pericardium replaced with Bovine. He underwent chemo and radiation. He appeared to be cancer free for almost 2 years when a recent scan revealed that the cancer is back in his abdominal cavity. He is undergoing treatment at Vanderbilt in Nashville now. My dad loves to play golf, but now that the medical bills have piled up, he cannot afford to play. I hope he wins this so that he may play golf at least once more in his life. Thank you for your consideration.”
“He’s been to hell and back,” Curry said of her brother. He deserves a chance at happiness again. “We were treated like celebrities. Thursday evening, Kathy and Randy, along with their family dined with the NFL celebrity Hall of Famers who participated in the tournament. Friday afternoon, when the tournament ended, Curry was bubbling with pride. The initial plan was for Roberts to play a hole or two, what with the brutal heat and humidity. Jordan Rowell, Kathy’s son was going to play the rest of the tournament for him. But as it turned out, Randy and Jordan both played the entire course, six hours! Kathy, Matthew and Wendy endured the heat to follow along and support Randy and Jordan.
“I was going to play as long as I could,” Roberts said.
“He may be feeling it tomorrow,” Curry said.
Still, she said, “He’s had the time of his life, playing golf with NFL celebrities.”
May it be a long life, with many more rounds to come.

Annie Ogle, LMT, has completed certification in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and now offers sessions ranging from 60 to 110 minutes at affordable prices!
The word Ashiatsu (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork brought to us by Buddhist monks and has always been associated with traditional Shiatsu with underlining dynamics in the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The traditional Ashiatsu treatment took into consideration breathing patterns, emotional states, and focused heavily on diet. The work was done with the recipient clothed and on the floor while the practitioner would use hand and foot pressure to balance the basic principals of change. This form of bodywork is a small part of the very complex system of Traditional Chinese Medicine that requires years of study for true understanding. Some refer to Ashiatsu as Barefoot Shiatsu but even they are different as they are both a continually changing and evolving form of bodywork. It is important to understand the differences between Ashiatsu and Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. Although the roots of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy are definitely Asian, the technique and application are truly western. Our technique is NOT performed on a floor mat or through clothing. The focus is on western application and sciences using foot compression to deliver Swedish massage. AOBT is NOT recommended if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, had a recent surgery or have any serious health conditions. Please contact us to make sure that AOBT is right for you.
